Alfred Rosenzweig (1897-1948) was a Viennese musicologist and critic who undertook a large-scale study of the composer Gustav Mahler. However, his flight from Austria combined with health problems prevented him from bringing his plans to fruition. His typescript, presumed to have been lost, came to light in 1997.
