Habakkuk's triumph
Sobre o livro
"When Judge Edward Joseph Broussard is confronted by a young man who spits in his face at the beginning of an arraignment, Eddie is stunned but immediately begins to identify with the bitter anger the boy displays. It is a reflection of the judge's old anger of resentment stemming from a multitude of wrongs heaped upon him in his youth. Eddie had grown up resenting people who tended to get away with wrongdoing. He is later reminded of a Bible-thumping preacher who often quoted scripture from the book of Habakkuk that placed emphasis on the fact that justice does, indeed, often prevail in the lives of ordinary people who have been downtrodden by those who have attained power. The preacher's paraphrasing, however, always warned his congregation that even though God is a loving god, His love, His mercy, and His grace are always trumped by His justice." --pg 4 of cover.
