When Florence Williams and her sister Edie inherit houses at Seagull Bay they decide to set themselves up as seaside landladies, catering to summer visitors. There, Florence's daughters become mixed up with two wildly unsuitable young men. Flattered by the attentions of an unscrupulous entertainer, Vicky tries to elope, but is brought back in time. Having learned that holiday romances seldom last, her prim sister, Alice, wonders if true love will ever come her way.
