No girl deliberately gets involved with a married man, and when Prudence Sinclair found herself falling in love with Godfrey Simmonds, whose marriage was in difficulties, to do them justice they both made up their minds to end the affair. The chance for Prudence to take over the running of a guest house for tourists in New Zealand's breathtakingly beautiful Fiordland was just the thing she needed to help her build a new life for herself, without Godfrey.
