The West coast of the Lizard, with Mullion Parish at the centre, has a rich and, until the publication of this book, forgotten story about the history of quarrying and mining of soapstone. the story began in 1748 and lasted for 80 years. Contributing in a major way to the evolution of the English porcelain industry at the very beginning of the industrial revolution.
