When Inspector Charlie Chey leads the F.B.I. operation to capture the notorious gunman Red Heydendahl, Charlie is gravely wounded and Red is shot dead in the ensuing battle. Criminals, watching the fighting, mistake Charlie for Heydendahl and rescue him, then take him into hiding for medical attention. But how long will it be before the criminals realise their mistake and discover that they've saved the wrong man? And then their vengeance will be swift and terrible.
