Multiplicity and becoming

In this book, Patrick Hayden provides interpretation of the work of the increasingly important French philosopher Gilles Deleuze. Multiplicity and Becoming argues that one of the most crucial yet overlooked aspects of Deleuze's thought is his conception of a radical empiricism of dynamic and creative difference. Hayden examines all of Deleuze's major works from the perspective of this compelling vision of empiricism. This study also discusses Deleuze's critique of the traditional representationalist principles of Western metaphysics, his resolute affirmation of immanence and relations, and the relevance of his anti-Platonic philosophy of becoming for environmental politics and ethics.
