This book is a historical account of tornado watches and tornado warning systems throughout the United States from their inception during World War II through the 1990s. It also includes theories of tornado formation from Native American tribes, early scientists, and more recent scientific investigations. The book attempts to show the correlation between the improvements in warnings and the decrease in tornado deaths in the United States.
