the long version
"Elementary Turkish has been adopted as a textbook at more than 30 universities in the U.S. since it was first published in 2006. Once students complete the two volumes, they should be able to speak, understand, read, and write Turkish at the mid-intermediate level. Both volumes can be used in a classroom setting or as self-study aids. Features of Elementary Turkish: It has a multi-skills syllabus. It is cyclical: materials presented in one unit recur, in the same or expanded form, in subsequent units. It is frequency based: materials chosen are comprised of high-frequency words, idioms, expressions, and grammatical structures. Grammar is graded, moving from simple to more complex elements. An English translation is provided for each conversation and sample sentence for learners who are studying on their own. The audio CD contains the alphabet, all of the conversations and the listening sections. A cumulative Turkish-English glossary contains the most-frequently-used words. A reverse English-Turkish glossary is provided for convenience. There is an Answer Key to Exercises."--Back cover.
