Higher education in Indiana

The author provided this book to the U.S. Department of the Interior in 1889, with an accompanying ‘Letter of Transmittal’. In it he wrote that the book, “contains an outline of the free common school system of the State, a brief account … of the development of its common schools; and a historical account of the origin, growth, and development, and the present condition, of Indiana’s various institutions for Higher Education.”
