Shifting sands

This is a story of people whose fate and lives are intertwined with the destiny of a beautiful island. An idealistic doctor meets a struggling author on an island. Both are emotionally scarred by their past relationships. A wealthy man whose family owns the island seeks to turn it into a world-class resort without regard for the lives of the people in the island. A woman seeks to confront her past and and struggles to come to terms with the death of her boyfriend who died when a storm whipped the island. A couple who pretends to keep a loveless marriage. These are the major characters in the book.
