New Directions

The worldwide trade and payments system is becoming increasingly international and competitive, a trend that presents opportunities and challenges for Canada's trade-dependent economy. This book is a collection of five papers - prepared by the Policy Staff of Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade - which concern the impact that environmental and labour relations practices have had on trade policy in recent years. New Directions expands the debate about these issues by offering balanced answers to questions while inviting readers to reflect more knowledgeably on the issues in play.
