the long version

"Historical Dictionary of the Republic of Korea presents a balanced view of South Korea and covers varying aspects of South Korean life, including domestic, political, and social events; foreign affairs; economic and cultural developments; and the men and women who have influenced the country's history. Many of the 400 entries are new or have been revised from the first edition to reflect changes and developments since 1948. The dictionary's chronology and historical narrative, also updated, cover the history of Korea, and the extensive bibliography includes the most current and useful books, journals, and websites, making this a valuable reference source for the scholar, student, and general reader."--BOOK JACKET.
