the long version
"Physics to a Degree is a collection of problems suitable for self-study, or tutorial and group work at the level of an undergraduate physics course. The authors have created a novel set of problems drawing together the core elements of an undergraduate physics degree. In order to solve these problems, the reader is led to develop conceptual insight and to reinforce his or her existing knowledge of basic theory and standard mathematical techniques. The aim of the book is to provide students with the problem solving skills needed for "general physics" examinations and for real-life situations encountered by the professional physicist." "The book is divided into three sections. The first has problems arranged into short groups or "tutorials" that are suitable both for group discussion and individual study. The second section gives detailed answers to these tutorials. The final section presents some further problems but without solutions. The book will therefore be of use to all undergraduate students and teachers of physics at this level."--BOOK JACKET.
