A story full of tenderness, designed for children to understand and feel empathy towards those other beings, with their view of reality, do not provide a more interesting, curious and rich perspective. Maria's life experience, in her slow learning to ride a bike, is the picture of all that, more or less slowly, falls and headwinds, with or without Down syndrome, but with dedication, affection and appropriate smiles, just reaching the goal. Knowledge, prior to the acceptance of those different allows us to overcome discriminatory and intolerant attitudes and contribute to the development of a more democratic and caring society.
