Twelve-year-old Jake Berman lives with his mum and stepfather in Tanzania. Jake has always been fascinated by a lone elephant on their game reserve, but knows that he must keep his distance. He and his friend Shani are thrilled to find that an elephant relocation program has selected their reserve for the rehoming of thirty elephants. But the nearby villagers are hostile to the idea - they don't want their crops to be at risk. The building of an elephant fence is the ideal solution ... but Jake is worried that the helpful local volunteers are not what they seem ...
