Clint Adams is just passing through Wider's Canyon when he sees a medicine man drawing a crowd with a so-called miracle cure. Clint takes a liking to the "Professor," a real colorful showman if there ever was one. But the Professor's doctoring more than folks' pains. He's fixing cards at poker, and the people want justice. And if the locals don't get him for cheating, a posse of assassins will have his hide for thieving. The Gunsmith knows the Professor has done wrong, but he can't stand by and let a friend get killed. Problem is, besides being a cheat and a thief, the Professor's a fool. And in Wider's Canyon, fools die hard and so do their friends...
