"This is a true story. In World War II, Private Donald A. Edwards was a combat infantryman with the 84th (Railsplitter) Infantry Division- the same one of which Henry Kissinger was a member. This autobiography, compiled from and written in a diary form, commences on September 6, 1944 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. It ends on May 9, 1945- V.E. Day- at Vietze on-the-Elbe in Germany.
