Who was he, this man who struck terror into the hearts of men who knew no fear; who betrayed his friends at a time when their lives depended on him. What manner of man was this who killed, and then vanished, to re-appear only to kill again? Corrigan did not know, but then he really had no intention of earning the money he received to hunt down Mallory. Why risk his life for a cause in which he did not believe, when he could work the biggest double cross of his life?
