the long version
"Realization means the actualization of faith--a faith fully awakened and effective within man. This is a meeting of seed and soil, of God and human nature, an encounter between the divine Person and the human person at the point where theology and anthropology touch each other. The main emphasis of this book is, therefore, anthropological, since this area is the primary concern of priests and educators, whose task it is not only to sow the Word of God but also to prepare the soil for it. And since the conditioning of the soil requires considerably more care than does the sowing of the seed, our reflections--the fruit of decades of striving to bring science and practical experience together--are focused on a doctrine of the life of the human person. The theory of this book should be of help in evaluating and intelligently articulating the manifold viewpoints of modern pastoral theology." -- Foreword.
