When Emma Peterson received an invitation from her friend Charlotte to stay with her in the Cornish cottage she just inherited, it seemed just what she needed after her boyfriend of eight years jilted her. But the isolated cottage was difficult to find, and when Emma finally arrived she found it was in complete disrepair. Worse, there was no sign of Charlotte, who should have arrived several days earlier.
