the long version
Stuart Dutting is happily anticipating his semi-retirement from the family carpet business. He's looking forward to spending more time with his wife Diane, and to his daughter Rachel taking over the old firm. But all is not a bed of roses. This raises spectres from Diane's past, and the whole family feel the certainties of small-town life move beneath their feet. So the Duttings do what all families do at times of crisis. They stop talking to each other.
