The physical basis and applications of intense resonant interactions of laser light with matter are dealt with in this volume. For senior students and researchers working experimentally or theoretically in the domain of intense resonant interactions, the course gives a broad survey and detailed treatment of the topic using modern mathematical methods which are put into clear physical form.
