"Tony." The deep voice of authority and quiet confidence instantly drew our attention. I straightened. My mouth opened slightly, but no sounds came. "Uncle Jack," I said, almost in a whisper. I stared at him. My breath stopped. He looks just like Dad. Tony Vincent migrates to his uncle's Christian camp in south Texas, hoping to fulfill his probation requirements and increase his chances for being accepted into an elite riding school. But as the bus fumes clear and the reality of his gritty, mosquito-infested surroundings sets in, Tony's dreams fade.
