the long version
Upon his grandmother's death, Daniel Lintz inherits a rundown Dutch colonial in Detroit's Indian Village. Recently unemployed, Lintz has barely begun to inventory the house's contents when he uncovers his grandfather's trove of inventions and secret papers. Not knowing who "they" are, Daniel and his wife Paige move into the house with their son Elliot. Daniel realizes all is not well when Elliot draws a picture of the house that shows a somber face in an upstairs window - and it isn't family.
