The manner in which the previous National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government went about rectifying the “errors” in National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks, with the aim of purging them of alleged Marxist and Macaulayan influence, left no one in doubt that school textbooks would once again be a target of the present government in the name of correcting historical wrongs.
