John Eagles was tired. After ten years of constant travel, living by his wits and his gun, he wanted to retire and live at peace. This was why he was heading home, back to his family and his old name of Adler. He expected to see some change, but not as much as he found. Why was someone hired to kill him before he even got there? Where had the small farms and ranches gone? What had happened to his family? Who were the three drifters who kept crossing his path? John could have just ridden on through and settled somewhere else, but he was determined to stick it out until the mysteries were solved and find the rest he so desperately needed.
