the long version

New York City, 1984. Seventeen-year-old Patrick arrives at St. Jude's for a week-long stay. He's used a wheel-chair since he was a young boy, and has been to the hospital many times in the past for long periods of tests and observation. This year, his roommates are three other teens from widely varied backgrounds. Each has experienced unique injuries and illnesses. There's tough-talking Tony from Brooklyn, the quiet Pearl from Harlem, and Matt, the rich kid who's going through chemo. The four youths may be different, but over the week they come together in ways that they never could have anticipated. They end up sharing the most intense seven days of their young lives.
