Lucinda Baker

Lucinda was born in Atlanta, Illinois and moved with her family at age 15 to Arizona. She had her first story published in Collier’s Magazine when she was 9 years old. In 1937, when she was a junior at ASC, Flagstaff (now NAU), she won the grand prize in a national collegiate writing contest (the Panhellenic Essay Contest).
