Ana Varela Tafur

Ana Varela Tafur was born in Iquitos, Peru in 1963. Ana Varela is a distinguished representative of Peru's 1990 literary generation. Varela represents a new tendency in Peruvian women's writing. Her work often blends a Neo-Romantic confessionalism with a conciousness of the public circumstances of her region and country.
