"In this book I want first and foremost to reach out to those of you who are at such a point in your journey in the hope of providing some support and encouragement. The insights I have received and can share may be of some help. At least, may my sharing say: I am with you. You are not alone. Your struggle toward decision is a common human experience. I think, too, of those of you who are in vocational ministry, and I want to reach out to you. Sometimes your precise role among the people of God and the true nature of your ministry is misunderstood. False expectations are placed upon you. You sometimes find yourself in an isolated position. Your lot is not always the happy one it should be. I want to reach out to you and share some of the joy I have found in vocational ministry. It might, also, be of some value to those of you who are seeking help from a vocational minister to see something of the relationship from his or her side."
