These were burning questions for the author as he was repeatedly confronted with extreme poverty in his work of bringing relief supplies to the poor in crisis prone nations around the world. Those questions started him off on a re-reading of the Bible that 'rocked and overturned his boat' and led to a massive paradigm shift in his understanding of the Gospel -- from the Gospel of salvation as most Christians know it, to the gospel of the Kingdom.
