Containing Coexistence is the first full-scale study of Finland's role in Soviet-American relations during the onset of the cold war. Hanhimaki draws on a wide range of multinational source material, including newly released archival materials, in a comparative approach that interrelates American, British, Finnish, Russian, and Swedish perspectives.
