Some of his most important commissions to date have been devoted to converting, refurbishing, and adding to buildings and complexes. In the Portuguese foothills of Arraiolos, dos Santos added a new wing and other structures to breathe new life into Pousada da Assuncao. In Luso, he resurrected an abandoned primary school as a new tourist office. And in Lisbon, he bridged two worlds with a new morgue and a chapel at Curry Cabral Hospital.
