the long version
“Orgy of the Dead” first appeared as a tie-in to the movie paperback in 1966, a year after the movie with the same name debuted. The book incorporated several of Ed Wood Jr.’s already-existing short stories, including "Final Curtain," "The Day the Mummy Danced," and "The Night the Banshee Cried." The book starts with Bob and Shirley driving down a dark mountain road looking for a cemetery, as Bob is a horror author and he is looking for inspiration because he does not want to write dog stories . A sudden storm arises, a tree falls over the road and Bob and Shirley go over a cliff. After wondering around for a bit they find the cript keeper / lord of darkness and his girlfriend (who has the hots for Shirley).
