John Bredin was raised in a Roman Catholic family and became a school teacher. He was also an alcoholic and42onverted to Methodism when he had an encounter with John Smith. In 1769, John Wesley called him into the ministry. John Bredins' ministry lasted 50 years as he preached in his homeland of Ireland and later in Scotland and England. He died in 1819.
