the long version

Maggie Day is hurtling towards her fiftieth birthday and, as a divorcee and new grandmother, her life is in free fall. As if that weren't enough, her favourite sister Diana dies and she is left alone to juggle the complex rivalries that bind her and her surviving siblings. Now middle-aged women, all three remain a puzzle to her, as does her sense of being an outsider.
