This is the story of a small boy who does not know how to lace his shoes. He trips over the laces coming down the stairs, and is sent outside by his mother to lace his shoes as she has previously taught him. He is sitting in the yard trying to remember how to lace his shoes when he spots his cat getting ready to pounce on a baby robin. He saves the robin, and in return the robins mother teaches him how to lace his shoes.
