Darcy didn't want to leave Lance behind. She loved her collie. But she didn't have any choice. Mom and Dad and Janet were moving to the big city, and Lance couldn't go along. The landlord in the new apartment wouldn't allow it. Darcy loved all dogs, and now she couldn't have any dogs. She discovered that it's hard to make friends in the big city too. And when you do find a friend, sometimes she moves away. The story of how one girl found that even the worst problem can turn out all right in the end--though sometimes in ways that you least expect.
