This collection of previously unpublished historical documents includes a number of items dealing with Salish and Kootenai history in the 19th century. Includes Pierre Pichette's recollection of his grandmother's search for a vision (p. 55-56), a letter from Chief Charlo to Governor Edgerton about the theft of horses by Flathead tribal members against white settlers (p. 56-57), the Bitterroot removal of Charlo's band (p. 61-62), and Conko's expressed resignation toward the progress of white ways (p. 270).
