Mr Henry Mulligan is an old man who is dying. He disappears from the geriatric ward of a large hospital in the English midlands. His wife, suffering from Alzheimer's disease, disappears with him. Where have they gone? And why? A young, newly qualified doctor working in hospital has made friends with the couple and decides to try and find them. His search proves more of a challenge than he had expected, and he discovers that he didn't know as much about Henry Mulligan as he thought he did. Only by uncovering some well-hidden secrets can the young doctor find the missing couple.
