You've probably heard of him, the jazz pianist Pete Adler. Maybe you have some of his recordings, but I'll bet you don't know he was born into a wealthy family, that his daddy wanted him to be a doctor, or at least a lawyer, that his beautiful, wild, and impulsive mother was just eighteen years old when he was born. My name is Patch and I play trumpet.
