Arthur Guinness, of Dublin, Ireland, (1759-1803) founded a well-known dynasty of wealthy and influential brewers and bankers. Perhaps lesser known are the many ministers and missionares in the family. It is as if there is a family dynamic between serving God and mammon. Michele Guinness, the wife of Rev. Peter Guinniss, had access letters and diaries from which she wove the family story. She has emphasized the line of Henry Grattan Guinness who gave away his inheritance and sparked a religious revival that spread world-wide. His children and grandchildren have served throughout the world.
