the long version

There is something in this book that may be lost on the regular reader that is perhaps far more significant than the author's content. On the last page he acknowledges the work of the printer's daughter Caroline (Fowler), "...A preface is given to most books to inform the reader what to expect. A concluding paragraph is seldom thought necessary. In this book there are many faults. The printer was [Thomas Fowler][1] of Great Torrington, Devon, UK a man who unil the twenty first century remained anonymous. [1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Fowler_%28inventor%29
