Abstract: A reference text for nutritionists, pediatricians, and infant food manufacturers provides a bibliography containing 686 annotated entries. The text is organized chronologically under 5 major areas: the start of the infant formula feeding controversy (1970-73); the developmet of public awareness, the popular campaign, and the response of the infant food industry (1974-77); the "boycott phase," involving expansion of the popular campaign (1978-81); development of the WHO Code, and the infant food industry response (1982-83); and the "end" of the controversy (1984). Under these 5 major headings, the bibliographical entries are grouped under 6 sub-headings; general articles and studies; scientific articles and studies; news media articles; articles by critic groups; church publications; and infant food industry publications.
