"Houston, we've had a problem..." were the words Apollo 13's Warning System Engineer Jerry Woodfill heard in his headset that April 13th, 1970 evening. The Tom hanks-Ron Howard movie, APOLLO 13 tells the story. Yet, in SPACE ACTS, Jerry brings a behind-the-scenes extra dimension to the account. In like fashion, he examines other significant events in the annals of American space and terrestrial exploration. Among there are: *The Apollo One fir of 1967, *The threats to Apollo 11's first manned lunar landing, *Space Station Skylab's fiery descent to Earth in July of 1979 and *The Challenger tragedy. Joining NASA as a Rice University electrical engineering graduate, Jerry managed Apollo's alarm systems. His system was first warned of the grace situation featured in the movie APOLLO 13. For this, he shared in the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded the Apollo 13 rescue team. For near four decades, Jerry has traveled the nations declaring the accounts of Space Acts in media presentations, television-radio interviews, and speaking engagements. For the release of APOLLO 13 THE IMAX EXPERIENCE, Jerry was designated by Universal Studios as a national spokesman to the media explaining his role in the rescue as well as the impact of world-wide-prayer leading to the successful outcome for the Apollo 13 crew.
