Grace Brawlins struggles to get by as a single mom. A solitary mistake created her greatest joy--her son--but it also tore her away from the Lord. Abandonded by the man she thought loved her, she has learned to be fiercly independent. Firefighter Mike Kingston has a soft spot in his heart for little Josh Brawlins and goes out of his way to befriend the poor lonely boy. Soon, Mike feels another kind of love for Josh's mother. Can he stand firm against the pressure of an often judgmental community--or in the face of Grace's low opinion of Christians?
