Partly inspired by Tolstoy's The Sevastopol Sketches, but also reminiscent of the powerfully restrained prose of Chekhov, Roberto Bolano, and Rachel Cusk, Emilio Fraia masterfully weaves together these stories of yearning and loss, obsession and madness, failure and the desire to persist"--
