the long version

"This novel not only has thrill, far more, it is a most interesting panorama of Germany and the Germans in a globalizing world." Peter Wien (chief editor of the culture-tv arte) in the magazine FOCUS " 'The stock market was friendly today.' But it does not always look favourably on the protagonist of this sweeping money and media novel. Nor deal gently with that bank of noble tradition, which was ruined by his speculative skills. Obviously the Leeson case has prompted this novel. Wolf Doleys adds exciting ingridients to the plot. He ennobles the ill speculating stock jobber a speculative philosopher, who - inspired by his attractive muse - makes post modernity its diagnosis. In prison he has sufficient time to realize the state of the art of the historical sundial. If phrases of an ironic/erotic character did not permeate the text all to often, Doleys' novel of the presence would have the makings of being the novel of our epoch. " Jochen Hörisch in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung
