Blind since birth, Faith Lambert has often felt useless in her pioneering family. As the Lambert clan leaves Nebraska to settle in Colorado, Faith is bombarded with new textures, sounds, and smells for her senses to explore--even a wild smell that spurs fear and awe. But she holds tight to one memory that always delights her senses--a dance with Evan Dobson on her last night in Nebraska. Meanwhile, Evan has journeyed west, too, intent on finding Faith and revealing his love to her. But what he finds is far more challenging than he expected.
